Museum of Cycladic Art

The Museum of Cycladic Art, one of the most important of Athens, was founded in 1986 in order to house the private collection of antiquities of Nikolaos and Dolly Goulandris and since then it has been enriched and expanded significantly with new donations and collections. It includes exhibits of ancient Greek and Cypriot art and possesses the richest collection of the civilization that was developed in the Cyclades during the 3rd millennium BC. It is housed in two buildings that are connected, the central modern building with the permanent collections, and the impressive Stathatos Mansion, work by Ernst Ziller, one of the most beautiful examples of neo-classicism in Athens.
